Lake Travis Community Library 1938 Lohmans Crossing, Lakeway, TX, United StatesLakeway Photography Club (LPC) hosts quarterly meetings at the Lake Travis Community Library. The LPC is an informal group of photographers of all ages and experience who are interested in exploring photography as an art medium. We strive to help everyone improve their individual photographic styles, as well as to learn more about the art and science of both film and digital photography. Our meetings are free and open to the public. We will discuss wildlife photography, the Pages to Pixels exhibit and review upcoming local photo festivals. Plus we will have a demo of the Topaz Labs photo software. For this meeting’s Spotlight, please submit your “Wildscapes” themed photos on our Facebook page before April 27th.

The Lakeway Photography Club presents "Pages to Pixels," an exhibit showcasing photographs inspired by beloved authors and books. This unique exhibition will be held at the Lake Travis Community Library from August 1st to 30th, 2025. A Photographic Exploration of Literary Worlds "Pages to Pixels" invites photographers to translate the imaginative worlds of their favorite literary works into compelling visual compositions. Capture the essence of a character, symbolize a profound theme, or share your personal connection to a story – all interpretations are welcome. Themes and Interpretations (Examples): Portraits of Fictional Characters: Bring literary figures to life through evocative portraits. Symbolic Representations: Use photography to convey the underlying themes and messages of your chosen books. Personal Connections: Reflect on the impact of literature on your life through photographs that express your experiences and interpretations. Submission Guidelines: Lakeway Photography Club members are invited to submit their work online for consideration. Selected photographs will be displayed at the Lake Travis Community Library throughout August. Naturescapes 2025 Photography Contest
Online EventNaturescapes Photography Contest is celebrating its 21st year! The unique beauty of the natural areas within San Marcos inspired the first Naturescapes Photography Contest. The contest includes photographs taken in greenspaces and natural areas throughout Hays, Blanco, Comal, Guadalupe, Caldwell, and Travis Counties. Contest sponsors are the Hill Country Photography Club and the Hays County Master Naturalist program. Goals of the contest and exhibit include increasing public awareness of the importance of protecting our natural world and giving photographers at all levels of experience a chance to capture, share, and receive recognition for beautiful and inspiring images. Suggested subjects include natural scenery, wildlife, plants, and people and pets in the natural environment. Accepting entries through June 23, 2025. Prizes $150 for Best in Show $100 for Best Natural Waterscape, sponsored by the Hays County Master Naturalists. The photo must feature a natural water feature such as a creek, river, pond or lake. $75 for Best Youth $75 each for 4 Awards of Excellence $25 each for 4 Awards of Merit $100 for the Best San Marcos Natural Area, sponsored by the San Marcos Greenbelt Alliance. The photo must be taken within one of San Marcos’ six natural areas: Purgatory Creek Natural Area, Spring Lake Natural Area, Ringtail Ridge Natural Area, Schulle Canyon Natural Area, Blanco Shoals Natural Area, and Sessom Creek Park. To be eligible for this prize, a photo must first be selected for the Naturescapes exhibition. $50 each for the Best Adult and the Best Youth Native Wildflower, sponsored by The Hill Country Chapter of the Native Plant Society of Texas.
